"Prince's Island. Bulb-scales thin, white with vermilion spots. In very thick shady
primitive woods 3500 to 4000 ft. high, on the Pico de Papagaio. In fl. Sept. 1853.
Seems thoroughly spontaneous and even indigenous; not cultivated anywhere in the island
and not seen in the less elevated districts. No. 4023."
